North Way Family,

As the regathering of the church for in person services continues to build across North Way, I was meditating on the importance of our gatherings, and reading Hebrews 10:23-25.  This passage challenges us as the church to stir each other up toward love and good works, to not neglect meeting together, and toward mutual encouragement.

It’s a great picture of why the church matters so much.  We all need stirred up toward love in a world that seems so dark at times, we all need reminded that we are not alone in this faith journey and we all deeply need encouragement.  The truth of it all is that as a church, we truly are better together.  May we never forget or neglect this call.

My prayer is that as we gather in person, we do not only do so for the service portion.  But rather, that we do so for the “one another” opportunity that exists every time we are together.  May we not just gather for church, but rather be a community that truly lives into Hebrews 10!  Let’s try it this weekend …

Two quick things:

  • Summer Series – Beginning in July, we will start a teaching series looking at the life of Joseph, specifically examining how his life is a great example and lesson on true hope. Genesis contains the details of Joseph, his family, and life from the prison to the palace. Many people look for a summer read, why not Genesis?  It will be a great series!
  • Parables Series – This weekend we will be reading from Luke 18, through the parable of the Pharisee and tax collector. Give it a read and as you do, see who you identify with in Jesus’ parable.

The Lord is at hand,
