North Way Family,

One of the things that is abundantly clear in scripture is that God blesses us when we do life His way.  Lots of scripture passages point to this truth, but my favorite comes from Proverbs 3.  We will touch on this in part 3 of our “In God We Trust” series, but I’d love for our entire church to meditate on verses 5-10:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.

Notice the tension between faith in God and faith in our own abilities.  I see that tension in every area of our life.  At a young age, I was challenged to make this passage a prayer for my life.  I pray these verses often.

Would you join me in praying these passages … both for you and your family, but for our nation as well?  No doubt this election is important.  But what will ultimately heal our land is a move of God’s Spirit.  Praying this kind of prayer positions us for just such a thing.

One thing to keep on your calendar:

  • Upper Zoom Mondays – If you have not yet heard, the Upper Zoom prayer gathering is still meeting every Monday morning, 7-7:30am, from now until Christmas.  I believe that now more than ever, prayer is critical both for our church and our nation.  Join in with so many across North Way, as we seek the heart of God through prayer.

Praying for us all.

The Lord is at hand,
